Art Autopsy

Tonight was an inspiring and productive night.  I attended Art Autopsy at Hyaena Gallery hosted by Clint Carney.  It was a live art event with the three main artists being Clint Carney, Matthew Levin, and D.W. Frydendall.  Basically, all three were painting, sculpting, and drawing (respectively) in front of anyone who attended this free, completely awesome event.  I brought something to work on as well because I didn't want all this creative inspiration to go unused like it normally does, and this is the result of my contribution...
Kinda puts a tear in your eye, right?  I know.  I went with the same style as what I had done for the vending machine, which was a lot of fun...pen and ink on watercolor paper, but this piece is about twice the size.

Clint Carney was painting crazy fast and awesome like he always does.  Look him up on Youtube and you'll see that he didn't even speed up the videos...he's like the Bruce Lee of painting.  Okay, so maybe he did speed up the videos, but he still gets the job done with style.  Regrettably, I have no video or pictorial proof of anyone else's art, but I will post links at the end of this post...I pinky swear.  You'll just have to trust me.

I was lucky enough to be able to work next to the amazingly talented Matthew Levin.  This man makes the creepiest, realistic sculptures that I've ever seen.  I know I throw the word awesome around a lot, but this guy actually inspires awe when I look at his work.  It also inspires me to try my hand at sculpting something soon, so look out for that.

D. W. Frydendall was working on some rad comic book characters for the vending machine.  I was really loving watching him ink a Batman piece.  His brush strokes were pure perfection.  I've seen his paintings before, but this was my first experience with his ink work.  Loved it.

The entire night was full of inspiration (at least for me), art, and friendship.  I met some really cool people and look forward to doing this again next month (check Hyaena Gallery's website for a specific date because I don't know just yet).

If you, or anyone you know, is interested in purchasing the piece I did tonight or any other print or original work as of late, please contact Hyaena Gallery.  Thank you all for your support as always.  Stay thirsty my friends (yeah I said it).

Another Update

Zombiemuse.net is going through some updating.  We're adding a "news" section (which is basically this blog), revamping the "links" section (as well as adding a few), and updating the "gallery" with new pieces as well as giving you the option to purchase prints.  No need for applause just yet...no seriously...ok stop!  Now you just look ridiculous clapping in front of your computers.  Thank you.  I love the attention, but the store is not functional yet.  Really?  Booing now?  Such children.
Anywho...moving on.  To see my artwork up close and personal, you can go to Hyaena Gallery in Burbank, CA.  Look at it, stare, gaze in wonder at "Alien Jesus" or "Zombie".  Smell the paint, take in as much as you can, then when you completely fall in love with the piece, you can purchase it and take it home forever.  Scare your children, spouse, grandmother, in-laws, family dog, old Mrs. Peterson from next door, or your goldfish you named Gole D. Hawn (after the actress that starred in the 80s comedy "Private Benjamin".  It's strange and creepy how much you like that movie).  I have several pieces there for purchase or to admire, as well as a few prints.  All pieces are very affordable and would like to be taken home by you or your friend, or your mom...hehehe, I said "your mom".
As always, thank you for your support.  You're all awesome.

here are links!  Yay!
